The Moolah Doula - Joanna Leffeld
About Joanna - The Moolah Doula
As the Moolah Doula, I am dedicated to helping people heal and become grounded in their relationship with money.
I began my career as a Certified Financial Planner in New York City and later trained in trauma-informed counseling after witnessing how often financial struggle is rooted in deeper emotional and relational wounds. My work bridges practical financial guidance with compassionate emotional support — especially during times of transition.
By healing your relationship with money, life becomes more spacious and open to possibilities you may never have imagined.
My Philosophy
I am passionate about teaching and empowering people to face financial challenges with clarity and self-trust. I believe everyone is capable of learning the tools needed to feel financially grounded and empowered.
My work challenges outdated patriarchal and colonial narratives that suggest women cannot manage or lead their own financial lives. In a compassionate, non-judgmental space, people consistently discover their capacity to thrive.
Background & Training
My path has been wide-ranging and deeply integrative.
In addition to my financial planning background, I have spent decades studying yoga, meditation, trauma healing, end-of-life care, and more recently the healing of ancestral lines.
These varied experiences inform a holistic, relational approach to money mentoring — one that honors both practical strategy and emotional truth.
Beyond the Work
When I’m not working with clients, I’m in my studio creating abstract paintings.
After spending much of my life on the East Coast, I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico during COVID. I now spend time hiking the mesas, drawing inspiration from the desert landscape and endless blue skies.
